New Jersey Medicaid recently released Medicaid Communication NO. 20-05 updating the Penalty Divisor to $357.67 per day as of April 1, 2020. The Divisor is a number published by the State Medicaid Department that is deemed to be the average of one month’s cost of a nursing home in the state. This number is used to calculate the number of months a Medicaid applicant is ineligible for Medicaid because of an uncompensated transfer (gift) made during the look-back period.
